Puss in boots

It's been a long time since my last post in January... Anyways, something really strange happened to me today. I went to the post office in UPM during lunch time. On the way back, just before the traffic lights before the UPM toll plaza i noticed a small orange thing streak across the street. As i got closer i soon realised that it was a poor petrified kitten. It was by the side of the road crouching in fear. So, fearing i might accidentally run it over I slowly maneuvered around the kitten. by this time the lights had already turned red. Mind you the kitten was about 2 feet from the side walk when i passed it. Worried about what had happened to the kitten i looked in the rear view mirror to see if it was ok. To my supprise, it was no longer there!! Suddenly the car behind me on the next lane honked me. He came out and said that the there was a kitten on my tyres!! The first thing that hit me was 'Did i run it over?'. Baffled, i went to inspect me rear wheel. I couldn't see it at first but after 1 red light cycle, sure enough there was an ginger kitten hiding between my wheel and my wheel arch! The space between my wheel and the arch is very small, especially on the rear wheels (i had installed sports springs on my car). So there i was squatting in the middle of the street squeezing my hands in the wheel arch. It was quite painful too! squeezing my hands into such a small space. The kitten, being scared and all didn't want to move from my wheel!! And i was hold up the traffic. God knows what people were thinking when drove past me and saw that the guy holding up the traffic was some dude messing around with his hands in the wheel arch!! I finally i managed to get the kitten out and i put it in the bed of flowers off the kerb. I hope the kitten is ok. The poor thing was petrified. If it was a kid it would've pee'd in it's pants!!

So, that was the 'extraordinary thing that happened to me today. I hope your day was just as eventful.

Clear day

It has been raining almost every day recently in KL. Today was an exception. I drove down to Low Yat Plaza after work and boy, the sky was so clear and if you know KL, you know that it's never this clear in KL. Normally, it's hazy at best. I wish i could've stopped and take a picture but alas, i was driving.

Can you believe that Almost the whole of Low Yat has run out of Photo Cyan and Photo Magenta BCI-6 ink cartridges? Spent almost an hour looking for these little critters. 90% of the shops i went to didn't have any stock and didn't keep any stock for that matter. Glad i found a shop that did have them before the first hour was up - else i would've had to pay for the next hour of parking. I hate paying for parking. It's like burning money... paying for your car to do nothing! hehehehe...

the highly anticipated salary revision was out in our payslips today. I got a lousy 4% increment! oh well, at least that covers my toll fare....

Not a single entry since last raya, and now it's new year! (the Hijrah calendar year). I had alot to say but not at the moment. It's a long weekend this weekend but I've spent most of today washing my car and dad's car. An old friend asked if I had any fruits of my DSLR shown anywhere. Well i had a few here. I'll upload a few pics of how my car looks like now. I've just about finished with the exterior. All my Japan pics were taken with my DSLR as well. Wow! I can't believe I've had it for 5 months now! And i'm no better at using all of it's features. Here're my car pics.

Yes... spent quite a boring sunday exploring more of the city and ended with having lunch at shakey's pizza with some of the Malaysian students here. Actually there are a few nice parks in Tsukuba and the lakes have huge carp in them!! hehehe... I took some pics so you can check them out. Spent the rest of the day sorting out my playlist for my ipod. Gosh, i didn't know i had so many duplicates of the same song!!

Yups
alia: Aku kat Jepun... hopefully will be back from Japan in time for your wedding
Madeehah: It's very lazy on weekends here... ppl don't go out and flock the shops as they do in Britain.

Saturday was a very slow day... There's not much to do here in Tsukuba. Woke up to the dound of beating drums though. Hmmm apparently the play live music in the city centre on weeekends. They took too long to start si i didn't bother to wait till they started playing properly. It was good music though i couldn't understand what they were saying but I've always thought that music should be languageless...

So, we went shopping today... well rather window shopping. Japan has many, many, many 2nd hand shops(recycle shops they call it) and the stuff sold there are mostly in mint condition. I'll be here for the next 3 months so i won't bother buying anything yet but surveying the prices I'm getting the idea that there are some great deals to be had! In fact, at this one shop i ended up buying an ipod Nano!! I was going to buy one anyway, but for abit more than the price of a brand new ipod nano 2gb, they sold a 4gb model for about the same price!! That's a great buy i thought. What made the feeling even sweater was the fact that the unit was practically sealed, like new!! I was really chuffed and ended up spending the rest of the night sorting out the 12gb of music i have to filter out the ones i really want in my ipod! Took so long cos the instruction manual was in in Japanese!! Thank god for the internet. Apple's on-line support is very good. they had video tutorials and stuff.. very cool. So, next step is to get a car adapter so that i can play my tunes in my car when i get back!

Today is gonna be a laid back day again. not much planned. I've planned to meet up with the 4 Malaysian students here at Shakey's pizza for lunch and that's about it. Maybe I'll have a wander around before that and take more pics. I'm contemplating training Taekwondo over here if i can find a place to train. But my kit is all back in Malaysia. But i can have it sent here if i'm serious. We'll see.... let's see how the day unfolds....

cop, is that ur 4gb ipod nano? it looks more like my 30gb ipod video ( sumpah tade unsur riak ). so baper harga ur ipod? Mon 4-Sep-2006 16:16

Earthquake

Bloody H**l!! Yesterday was the first time I've experienced a proper earthquake!! It was damn scarry at first but after a while looking at all the jap just acting cool I had faith in Japanese engineering. Apparently the buildings here are earthquake proof till about 6 on the Rickter scale. Even the bridges and elevated highways are kinda 'elastic'. It was a funny sensation of being swayed and bobing up and down during a typical Tokyo traffic jam but i guess one gets used to it. The japs have really polite driving habbits that could never be implemented in Malaysia. Like saying thank you by letting your hazard lights blink twice when they give you way. All in all I'm liking it here. But that might change once there's no more internet when i move into the appartment on the 9th of Sept... better get my Ipod Nano pronto!! It's very cheap in Japan!
